Complete tractability is ensured and our customers can have total confidence in knowing where our meat comes from. Our meat is of the highest quality, hung in the traditional way for three weeks to give extra tenderness and flavour. Our meat also has the FABBL “Farm Assured” mark of approval. With our own South Devon suckle herd we produce our own beef for the butchery and restaurant meals, not forgetting products in the farm shop to include pies and pasties. For Christmas we produce our own fresh turkeys – these can be sampled in the restaurant throughout the December month.
We make our own varieties of sausages of which the traditional pork sausages can be tasted in the restaurant on a hearty breakfast. Martyn, Jamie, Mark, Ann and Jack, our fully trained and experienced butchers are on hand to offer advice, and will prepare and cut meat to your requirements. Look out for dry cured bacon and top quality Cornish produced pork, gammon and ham and Creedy Carver chicken and duck.
Jamie started at Strawberry Fields as a young apprentice over 3 years ago. He completed his training and now strives to create an interesting and varied counter with particular attention to added value products.
Our long service butcher, Mark is a smiley face and is well known with our regulars.
Martyn has been in the butchery industry since he was a young lad. He has a keen eye for butchery knife skills and we look forward to developing our butchery range with him a key team member.
Ann's history with us is on the deli but her love for serving made her the perfect candidate for the butchery. She enjoys giving 100% to the customers to help them with their meal ideas and cooking tips.
